We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Engineer/Data Scientist with expertise in Microsoft Azure to join our team. As a Data Engineer/Data Scientist specializing in Azure, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines, analytics solutions, and machine learning models on the Azure cloud platform.

We are seeking a detail-focused, knowledgeable, and professional Senior Data Engineer to join our team! The ideal fit for the role will have a strong background in IT and data mining or engineering and the ability to build bespoke systems to harness data. The key focus of the position is to build or maintain systems to capture and store data on behalf of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Databricks, and other Azure data services.
  • Implement and optimize data storage solutions on Azure, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Blob Storage.
  • Build and deploy machine learning models using Azure Machine Learning and Azure Databricks, leveraging Azure's AI capabilities.
  • Collaborate to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
  • Perform data exploration, analysis, and visualization using tools such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and Python libraries (e.g., Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  • Implement and enforce data governance, security, and compliance policies in Azure.
  • Monitor and optimize data pipelines and analytics solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering, data science, and cloud computing.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or a related field with a focus on Azure. Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure data services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Experience building and deploying machine learning models using Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, or similar platforms. - Strong programming skills in Python or R.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Matplotlib. 
  • Knowledge of big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experienced with work performed by Product Owners and Quality Assurance Engineers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who is detail-oriented, quick-learner and deadline-driven
  • Habituated to performing peer feedback, used to healthy design discussions and collaboration, and mentoring other members of the team.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and experiment with innovation.

Nice to have

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate, or similar.
  • Knowledge of advanced machine learning techniques and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Experience with distributed computing and parallel processing.
  • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies (e.g., Azure Stream Analytics, Apache Kafka).
  • Experience with data orchestration and workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow or Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience with or interest in learning Azure DevOps CI/CD Pipelines

Salary Range: $124K - $152K

Position: Office based (No Remote)
